Take a vacation in traditional Flagstaff style- comfortable, simple and rustic. Furnished with log beds, down comforters, custom made rustic armoires, and loads of natural pine in the interior, you'll feel like you have your own mountain getaway when you stay with us. Flagstaff is home to herds of elk, mule deer, a multitude of birds and many other natural inhabitants, many of whom use our property and the forest behind us as their home fields. Your chances of seeing wildlife are excellent-sometimes right from your window! For bird watchers, our front deck offers a relaxing way to check out the local avians. And just across the highway in Kachina Village, you can walk the Kachina Village Wetlands for even more bird watching opportunities.
Mountainaire is an eclectic community of independent minded folks. Our property was the location of the first residents here and still has the original dairy barn and log cabin from those turn of the century (1900s!)settlers. We're 6 miles south of Flagstaff and to the east of I-17 by 1.5 miles on Mountainaire Road. Residents of Mountainaire commute to Flagstaff or have home based businesses. The other official businesses on our street are the Mountainaire Tavern and Restaurant, the Mountainaire Country Store, the Mountainaire Mini-Storage and our local water company, Ponderosa Utilities, that serves up the best well water in the area. The whole community is surrounded by Coconino National Forest with trails and dirt roads taking off in all directions.
Wouldn't it be grand to hold an event somewhere other than the heart of the city? Somewhere where you operate the air conditioning by opening the windows? Where shoes are optional and ties unexpected? Or to walk into the woods for your wedding ceremony and then back to a comfortable, warm and inviting Lodge for your reception? Well that's what you get at the Abineau Lodge. A warm, friendly and casual atmosphere that inspires creativity, lights up the air and puts you and your guests at ease.
